This older style brick built low set house covering 340sqm was in need of modernisation and expansion to accommodate a growing family. What was once a darker closed in home is now light and airy with open plan areas that flow through into each other. The owners however have cleverly kept sectioned off spaces in the house such as the master suite, media room and study enabling them to have privacy and peace and quiet when they need it! The kitchen dining room in this renovation is simply stunning from the Caesar Stone work benches to the array of European appliances and gadgetry right through to the pantry, with clean lines and glass splash back it is a real crowd pleaser. From the exterior the facade has been brought up to date by removing the square set bay windows and the old style Gabel roof a more contemporary colour was then applied to the existing tiles. New cladding and a beautiful feature front door complete the look of this 5 bedroom 3 bathroom family home.

Set at the bottom of a steep slope in Daisy hill this renovation was born out of necessity. The owners were suffering from flooding and a deluge of water with heavy rain fall so a new driveway combined with retaining walls and drainage was designed to combat the issues. Internally walls were removed in the living/ dining areas opening the space allowing a lighter more modern feel. Then it was a process of out with the old and in with the new including the kitchen, ensuite, flooring and lighting. The entrance was given a contemporary twist with a double pivot door. As an ongoing renovation project it is anticipated that the roof will be replaced next to bring this project to a successful completion.

The specifications on this Shailer Park renovation were simple-add more rooms and give them an alfresco entertaining area.
The back of this existing lowset home was mostly slab and underutilised so a master suite, dining room and enclosed patio area were created. The original and new roofs were painted the same colour to give a sense of continuity along with the render making the extension to this property blend seamlessly. Although this was not a large project it has allowed the owners to expand and stay in the home they love.

This renovation in Daisy Hill on a very steep sloping lot was an intense but ultimately rewarding process. The remit was to transform a 1970’s high set brick and tile home into a modern multi functional building that not only accommodates the owner’s family but has a working office, guest accommodation and granny flat attached. Split over 3 levels the accent is on entertaining with a swimming pool and alfresco areas dissecting the top level from the bottom. Getting the desired look meant removing almost all of the upper levels walls and roof. The lower floor was extended and a separate annexe was also built. Materials used in the project had to reflect the scale and grandeur of the completed home and this was achieved by use of Stria, Hardiflex and rendered facades. The entrance has been given the wow factor by the use of a double height void with feature steel columns coupled with cleverly placed mood lighting and a water feature outside the front door. Bedrooms on the upper level have been divided into a master suite and a children’s wing that is accessible via a bridge over the lap pool, this
ensures everyone in this family has their own space.
The kitchen has been situated in the middle floor with almost 360 degree views of the rest of the home. Whilst planning this renovation the owners also had to take into consideration parking space for several vehicles and a boat so a sweeping drive that curled behind the annexe and a double garage were incorporated into the design, soft architectural planting and greenery have been planted to give a sense of cohesion between both properties. It is now almost impossible to envisage what was once a tired and dated property but goes to prove that with renovations almost anything is possible.
